I doubt it. Linux works for Autodesk, but not for news. It could, but it won't. I don't think that the VJ or Preditor/Journalist concept lends itself to that. Generally I think laptop-based, so we're talking about Premiere Pro maybe more than any others. Adobe is cross-platform, they are actively courting large enterprises with an end-to-end metadata story and PPro has its own AMA-style structure. It may not scale well for large shows, but it's probably just fine for news stories. Of course, FCP and Avid could easily play in this space, too.
