No, FCP is 601/709 internal as well. I'm not sure it handles the mapping the same way in/out of QT, but the pro codecs are YUV. That's why SuperWhite is possible with FCP.

The trouble with FCP is that you always have to go through QT to get in and out of the media layer and sometimes you are fighting the things QT does to "help" you. I think that one of the big reasons Apple is standardizing on H264 for consumer video and ProRes for pro video is to gain some control of the situation. The rest are all legacy codecs as far as they are concerned and I feel will increasingly become broken and unpredictable.
