[Avid-L2] MovingPicture plug-in installed Avid won't start.

Finally getting time to update all the Avid systems. It takes a big chunk of a day to do a clean install of Vista if nothing goes wrong and of course things did go wrong with Vista and Avid install.

On 1 of the systems after installing Nvidia driver on restart Vista would not start because of a problem with the "hive file". I couldn't repair Vista so started over.

Had problems with the Avid installer on both systems requiring manual installation of the Symphony software. Hadn't called support in a long time Adam did great job helping me find the solution. This a problem they have now seen a few systems since I first called.

Now I'm down to my last issue, Avid Symphony Nitrus DX systems running Windows Vista 64 on HP XW8600. Trying to install Stage Tools Moving Pictures AVX plug-in. When I install the plug-in and start the Avid, Vista encounters a problem when it reaches the AVX part of start up and wants to quit the program. Remove the plug-in and the system starts normally.

I then tried installing Digital Film Tools zMatte plug-in and it works.

I've been working with Bill from Stage Tools he's been great responding but from his last email

"There are a lot of people using this version on Vista 64, so I don;t think it's a s/w problem."

I'm having the same problem on 2 machines using a version of the software provided by a link he supplied. Other plug-ins in the folder work.

Anyone else using running Moving Pictures plug-in with this configuration?

Suggestions?

Thanks

A Young
