workforce in response to a changing market which is more online sales and
less personal relationships. It might be that you don't need to permanently
innovate to be successful and make products people want. Sony did very well
for many years copying and improving TV hardware ultimately to the detriment
of GVG and Ampex. They did a mix of innovate and improve.
Major things do happen, you may not want them but that doesn't mean no one
does.. AMA springs to mind. You could argue the same about many other bits
of software they all compete though. Take compression software, there are
probably half a dozen options I'm not sure any make me go WOW but I still
buy them! Maybe nothing in edit software is going to give you the WOW factor
anymore.
Just an alternative viewpoint!

i think he was referring to the stereotype he had mentioned earlier, that
the Dutch are cheap. Stereotypically, the Jewish are too. so Bouke, then
would be twice as bad at being cheap. if you believe stereotypes.
i think the writing is on the wall.. with avid laying off (i heard) 40% of
their workforce.. they no longer innovate and lead the way, they're more
about keeping up with the Jones'. No matter which avid product you use. when
was the last time something Major happened to it? something that made you
say Wow! i need to get my hands on that...?
