delivery platform/tool for like four years. I don't know if it will have as
long a life with video as .txt and .pdf have had with text. And I pretty
much don't care. If it remains a good tool/platform to deliver video over
the net, great. If something better comes along, fine.
Also, Adobe's Packager for iPhone, to be integrated in Flash Pro CS5, will
offer iPhone/touch/Pad support/integration. Adobe says more here:
<http://blogs.adobe.com/flashplatform/2010/01/building_ipad_apps.html>
Don't know if Packager will let you build video players for the iPad. My
guess is it would.
But currently, Flash can be a big resource hog. Steve Jobs has publicly
dissed it. And HTML5 is gaining some support for the stats and control you
(and I) need....Heck, Adobe and Flash could support HTML5 too.
I'm committed to video on the web. I'm not committed (or at least tied) to
Flash video players. But I think Adobe won't stand still...Heck, they have
60-90 days before the iPad is on sale. I'm not too worried about all this.
Ya, the iPad is cool.
