[Avid-L2] Re: Limiting "Avid MediaFile" Folder Creation

If on a Mac you can create and AvidMediaFiles folder on the root of a drive and lock it. That will prevent any media from being written there. The same can apply to an OMFI folder. You do get some less than obvious error messages when you try to write media to the locked drives but it will do what you want. I remember people talking about creating a text file called AvidMediaFiles on a PC which would also inhibit the writing of media to a drive. I haven't done it on a PC but have used the Mac trick with success. I am not on a unity etc... with project sharing and media sharing if this would work. I'm sure that would change things.
