Re: [Avid-L2] Re: OT-Living in Emergency on shortlist

In documentary at least, every time I've shared credit or seen it shared, it's meant that the editors worked serially; one got the cut as far as she could, and then perhaps fell out with the director or simply had to move on to another job. In one very unusual case, two editors worked on the same cut at once, one of them literally working Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and the other Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. Then, believe it or not, I came in to do additional editing because one of them wanted to go on vacation! The limitations of this model were quickly revealed, because there were duplicated shots across montages in a bunch of places. Yes, dupe detection was on, but I think there was some kind of background power struggle going on between those two to the effect of "Well, tell him to take it out of HIS montage. It's working beautifully where I have it!"

Congratulations for that!
How does it work to edit with 2 other people? How do you share the work? I seem
to see more and more of that and I'm curious to know how it's done when it
happens.
I could do with having some help on the film I'm cutting now... 100+ hours of
footage for a feature film. ;-)
