Two minor issues that I failed to sufficiently clarify in that post:
1. When I indicated that I have given-up on the 3-monitor approach (largely because I run non-Avid applications on my third monitor) -- I failed to mention that I accomplish that goal by completely disabling my secondary nVidia FX1800 graphics card outputs in Windows Display settings. When I am finished editing -- I reinstate those heads for "productivity" applications.
2. This may be obvious, but if you do go down this road, you will want your third (and maybe forth) displays to be running in the exact same screen resolution in Windows as your primary displays -- not because it is a necessity -- but because the screen mapping can make mousing back and forth a real PIA if the screens are not aligned.
Again, good luck.
