The one bit of metadata that is not automatically there (even with a
consolidate/transcode) is the disk name. One could happily use AMA to
view clips and make selects then consolidate or transcode to regular
media storage. Everything would be fine until s/he needed to reimport
something and looked over at the stack of hundreds of XDCam disks. I
wonder how hard it would be for Avid to prompt for an optional disk name
when it sees an AMA source.
