experience on all of Avid's editing tools; Media Composer, Symphony
and DS, I find most of the comments about DS on this list ill-
informed, ignorant and stupid, just as most comments on the DS-list
about MC and Symphony are equally ignorant and stupid. When a rumor
circulates about a new unrelated tool, and a regular uses it to take
yet another cheap shot at "the DS community", the pointless idiocy of
it provokes me.
Avid is not a healthy company, and the tools on offer from them
currently reflect that. Apart from stereo containers and a half baked
RED support, DS hasn't gained any serious new feature over the last 7
years or so. The MC/Symph is like a well kept museum which get s its
walls repainted every 4 years. What was once amazing innovating
toolboxes have become dead reservoirs of stale concepts, unintuitive
for everyone coming at it with fresh eyes. And we're just a bunch of
oldies quarreling about what should have been.
