an almost daily basis for maybe five years and never had a bit of
trouble. It's never liked the Firewire output direct from a Mojo, but
composite and s-video out from the Mojo, or composite, s-video and
Firewire output from tape decks are all fine. They have component
outputs but no component input. I have a newer model at home without the
hard drive and it's been very reliable as well, although it hasn't seen
nearly as much use. I think the current models start in the $150 - $160
range. Haven't used any other brands, so I can't offer any comparisons.

Subject: [Avid-L2] DVD recorders
Can anyone recommend a bullet proof DVD recorder for quick tape to DVD
one offs? I had a Philips for years until the disk carriage broke so
I bought another exactly like it and that carriage broke within a few
months. I've been without for a while but the need is coming back.
Component in and out would be nice as occasionally I get clients who
bring in source on this. But mostly dubs from Digi and Beta and DVcam
right to DVD. Easy user interface is a must. Any recommendations
would be appreciated.
thanks
