I add:

I use locators too, but I don't worry about the window appearing. On
NewsCutter 7.05, I just play the clip at 3x (or even faster), adding
locators on shot changes as quickly as I can. I have mapped the "Add
Locator" function to my keyboard. When you do that, you can add
locators while the clip plays, even at a fast rate. The locator window
does not appear while doing this. It DOES appear once you've stopped
the playback, but as noted earlier, this can be turned off if you wish.
Once I stop the playback, I have a clip loaded with locators at each
shot change. This helps me in 'news-y' editing: not really accurate
but close enough and very fast.
