[Avid-L2] Xw8400 nitris visat 64 uncompressed trouble

We are running 2 symphony Nitris systems that are identical. 8400, RTR scsi
drives, Nitris classic hardware. And on Vista business 64bit . With both
systems in HD 1:1 10 bit and 8 Bit We get VDM_overrun errors when capturing.
We might capture 100+ clips successfully then find 20 clips won't capture.
They all stop about 1 sec into the capture with the above error and " expect
a green frame on the desktop" Often it is impossible to capture the faulty
clips. The only way have been to go to DNx which we don't want to do. We
have substituted every part of the systems and still get the same result.
They have the correct BIOS and drivers etc.

We think this has only happened since we upgraded to 64 bit, we certainly
never had this problem before although we might have been on 3.1 and not
3.5.4 We upgraded to the point releases including patches to try and
overcome this but no joy.

Usually this error seems to relate to drive trouble, however the drives
definitely have the right profile loaded and also as one system is Dual boot
the drives can handle DS 4:4:4 media without a hiccup, and we have done the
speed tests on the drives and all is easily OK.

So is anyone else using this configuration and does it work for you?

The release notes for this and later version say there is a problem with
this and optimizing the drives might help but as I understand it that is
referring to selecting the correct profile in the RTR using hyperterminal
which we have done.

Anyone have this or know anything about it?

Thanks

N
