In that range I would still go with the JVC. If you are the only person in the room (so the off axis drop off of LCD is not an issue) and you can get used to to LCDs nearly useless handling of black detail, then you will be okay. With these monitors you REALLY rely on your scope.

If you are looking to do DI work, get the Panasonic plasma and one of the converters that allows you to enter custom LUTs.
