We do these ourselves on all manner of tapes, including mini-dv. If you have a bit of patience and a steady hand you can do it too.
Get a few new cassettes and a set of jewelers screwdrivers. Take apart the new shell and leave it open. Take apart the damaged shell, remove the tape spools and put them into the good shell. Make sure to keep the orientation of the reels to the shell consistent and follow the same thread pattern. The first time it can be helpful to take the cover off of one cassette and leave it open as a guide while you do the operation on another.
