How long have you known me again? At least 10 to 15 years. And you still don't get my sense of humor? This was not a personal anything against you Dave. It was a venting of the frustration I've accumulated over the years working with the EDL manager as an archaic workaround to something that FCP can handle without a problem.

I agree there are a lot of off topic discussions here, but that has always been the beauty of the L. Think of it like an Editors' Lounge. But of folks who have a lot o common interests and experiences who enjoy sharing them.

If you want straight talk of nothing but Avid and Avid vs. FCP then I suggest you check out the community forums on the Avid site itself. (Though I still get an occasional shot in there also).
