Thanks Steve, yes we have now done a few tests and 30fps to 25fps is
shit.

Of course this is the big debate. The 7D does do 24 and 25 but the
noise with high ISO (due to using a smaller sensor) borders on un-
acceptable, so we are sort of hoping the 5D will support 24 or 25 by
the time we shoot, I suspect there is some sort of Firm Ware issue,
that will not make this possible, it may just be down to Data rate
coming off a bigger sensor (although coming down from 30 to 25
suggests otherwise). At the moment they both run at 45Mb/s in H-264.
There is a bit of ground swell in a general RAW standard from Arri and
Adobe using Lightroom as a Pre-grade and that could prove interesting.

At the end of the day, I do not want to have to transcode anything,
thats why we forked out AUD$14,000 for 2 RedRocket cards, at the
moment one of them is sitting on the new Engineers desk and the other
is transcoding to ProRez in better than RT.

Now a DSLR that writes to ProRez, now you are talking.
