Here's my understanding (and I got this from people doing actual work on
different systems):

If one really needs to work with the files, one needs to convert. With FCP,
anyone doing serious work converts to ProRes. With Avid, you convert to
DNxHD.

I cannot understand what is so difficult about MetaFuze.

Scan folders, choose all files, set settings, transcode. Open the Media Tool
and drag the files into bins. Done.

How many steps and conversions do you see? I see ONE transcode.

End of the road: create an EDL or AAF.
