Re: [Avid-L2] Re: Why isn't Avid marketing all over this story?

You have got it in one Job. We run around 30TB shared between 3
systems, one is purely an ingest station ( at the moment that is just
doing ProRez). At 36MB/s (RC36)
It's quite manageble in a Network speed sense. Once the SDK is in
place our RR cards will take the files in Log and Transfer (LAT) and
run them in 2K debayering in RT to a Projector. The RR card is
supposed to send RGB back to FCP for the GUI, this we have not tested
yet due to Apple dragging it's feet with the SDK. The plan then, is to
test the "Round Robin" to COLOUR. In theory COLOUR should just relink
to the .R3D and we should be grading at 4K (the RR card does the DB),
that's the theory anway. From there you can output anything you like.
It's a WIP, if Avid came out with a better solution we would certainly
consider a change, but I just don't see that.

At the moment I have two projects on, one with RED as PPS and the
other with seeding 10 iPhones for a PodKasting venture. It sort of
does your head in some days.
