Nope it's the same as 8 perf 35mm still or in motion picture nomenclature VistaVision or "Lazy Eight". The pic format for 8 perf 35mm is roughly 1.85. DOF in VistaVision is exactly the same as still photography and is very close to 35mm Anamorphic. The big difference is VistaVision is shot with Spherical lenses (faster, better quality and optically superior) and Anamorphic lenses (slow, heavy and particular optic issues) . Anamorphic photography consists of a 2.35 horizontal squeeze on the original camera negative. VistaVision's 2:35 is extracted during the optical or DI process and then squeezed in the film print. 1st AC's have handled VistaVision and 65mm DOF for ages. If the 1st AC is good and knows his DOF tables it's not an issue. I know 1st AC's who pull focus on IMAX which is basically a 4x3 version of the Hasselblad 6x6 format.
