[Avid-L2] Re: BETA SP BVW-70 Head Switching in active video?

Yes I think the servo is locked to the ref when in edit mode. And an assemble isn't a hrad record. It starts off playing back locked to ref then a short insert period (clearing any old footage) and then effectively in hard record but the servo lock has to stay the same through out so the head switching is off. The picture looks right because the sync pulses recorded on the tape (now in the wromg place) force the monitor to display the picture correctly but the switching is visible.
There maybe a menu option (or even a switch) that allows the sync to follow the incoming video. That would sort it or feed the ref from a PAL signal with teh same timing delay. Ideally the AJA unit.
