There maybe a menu option (or even a switch) that allows the sync to follow the incoming video. That would sort it or feed the ref from a PAL signal with teh same timing delay. Ideally the AJA unit.

The resulting betasp has head switching up about 60 lines from the bottom of the frame. All decks and Avid are locked to house black. If I take a second sdi ouput of the avid directly into the BetaSp decks aja converter there are no head switching problems. Obviously there is enough processing delay going through the digibeta that the component out from the converter is out of the Beta Sp's window of tolerance. My real question is about how the BVW-70 is handling sync with the component input. The picture with head switching issues is not off vertically. Does the beta deck derive it's head switching pulses based on the house sync ref? I don't think there is any sync on any of the component signals coming in so my recollection is it's all based
