I don't like it either, but I found it to be the only reliable way to get the audio mix right for the QTRef. Once Sorenson is done, I delete the mixdown clips and media.

I was trying to avoid that as well. I don't like mixdowns. Trying to figure out a way to mark in/out export for a total time of 10 seconds, then back to work.
