[Avid-L2] Re: Relinking Imported Media

To be specific highlight the sequence with the .movs that need to be reimported. Then go to clip menu and choose batch import. Select offline only. The missing movies should show up and then you import them after directing avid to their location. If you highlight all in the import dialogue and choose find file after you find the first the rest in the same folder should also be found and you can import them. This should fill in all the snippets in your sequence.

The original project files are stored on USB drives along with the media. The Avid MediaFiles/MXF/1 directory on the drive has all of the tape, P2, graphics renders and even some pre computes, but NOT the imported .mov files. The original .mov files are in a separate folder and will need to be imported once again. Therein lies the rub. These .mov files are sliced-and-diced plus scattered throughout the timeline and I'm hoping there's a simple way to force Media Composer to relink the freshly imported files with the old master clips already on the timeline. I've never been able to do this in the past so I've always assumed it just wasn't possible. However this time it will be a major pain so I hope someone will point me towards a workflow that will be simple and efficient.
