Re: [Avid-L2] What is the current video hardware?

I can confirm that on our MacStudio M1's, we're running Monterey, MC 22.12.9, and reverted back to Desktop Video 12.3.1 and it's a lot more stable. We still have the sync drift on long sequences, but a far less beachball/crashing.

Possible work arounds:
  • Set BMD desktop video setup – Default video standard to match the project.  Might help – not sure - Doesn't help
  • Use different HDMI monitor. Some are faster than others when sync lock goes away. - Will still loose sync lock
  • Use SDI Monitor until this is fixed - Works
  • Use SDI to HDMI converter  and connect SDI to BMD device (instead of HDMI).  Not sure if this helps or not. - Converter works perfectly
  • Use Intel based Macs with older BMD driver that does not have this problem. - Hahaha, so downgrade? LOL

Hi Tim…..

I tried to email you directly, but it bounced back

I touched base with our hardware engineer last week on this topic and the stability issues are with all 3 -  BMD, AJA and Avid - at this time.

Ping me back with ?

The issue you seem to be having might be a combination of a BMD device and the HDMI monitor you are using.
