With the subscription price at $499 (and right now at $399 on the deal), it just doesn't make much monetary sense (and hasn't for a few years now) to keep those perpetual licenses going. Consider that with the subscription, you get all of the tools (MC, Symphony, PhraseFind, ScriptSync) included, it also doesn't make much logistical sense to persist with renewing perpetual licenses. I think Avid is one of the few companies that has made it pretty much a no-brainer to move on from the old model by offering the bundle for less than what it costs to re-up a perpetual single-product license.

I'm not shilling, just a little befuddled at the latest rumblings in this group when this decision was made for me years ago. I'm glad they continue to offer it, I just do not know what benefit it has over the subscription.
