On my current project I've just received the final mixes and I've been given a 2.0 Full Mix and a 2.0 Full Mix-Web. I've reached out to the mixer for clarification but thought somebody here could enlighten me. I'm assuming the "-Web" mix is intended for web sites and seems to have a hotter mix than I'm use to seeing. Perhaps it doesn't adhere to Dialogue Norm specs etc... I have notice the mixes I've been given seem hotter than most mixes I usually get peaking at -4 and slightly above on the Avid audio meter where as I usually see the same types of peaks riding closer to -10 ish.
Is there a new audio approach to delivering multiple mixes to differentiate use on the Web as opposed to broadcast/cable/streamers? Learn something new everyday.
