Re: [Avid-L2] MC Renders

5.6 is the last version, and it is 64 bit.  I would suspect some issue with writing your renders…Is the red effect stacked inside another effect?  Are you on shared storage with proper permissions?  Is your render path set to an appropriate location?

(just some things I would look into)

Red 5.6
Last version I think.
Boris website doesn't appear to be much help, no mention
that I could find.

While using FrameFlex is always higher quality, their interface is non-intuitive and a total kludge for anything other than static resizing from one format to another.  Trying to do a match move or dynamic moves is sheer lunacy.

I wonder what your Boris Red version is, and what platform you are on.  If you have older versions that aren't compatible with newer Media Composer versions, it may be your problem.

I'd classify Pan and Zoom as of historical interest only. You can do most of what it offers with Frameflex.

I am having a heckuva time with Pan and Zoom and some
Boris Red effects on the timeline.

I am having to render for playback
just about every time I work on it.
Otherwise I just get a black screen.
on those clips.

I recently had to wipe my drive,
do an OS install and migrate from backup.
I also did a fresh install of MC 2018.9.
So I don't think this is a computer issue.

I trashed MC State and have repaired sequence
in the Console.  I may have to redo the Pan and Zoom stuff in After Effects.
Ditto Boris Red.

Are these known issues with P&Z and Boris Red?
Is there a solution?
