John, I'll check the version of the AMA plug-in. I don't recall when that was added to my system.

What version of MC? Correct AMA plugin being used?I don't know why this is still an issue. Linking to media files isn't this mystical amazing achievement....it's literally the way every other NLE "imports" media. On Mon, May 20, 2019 at 7:14 PM Jay Mahavier jay_mahavier@icloud.com [Avid-L2] <Avid-L2@yahoogroups.com> wrote:Ok, I hear about people using AMA all the time. I'm trying to finish a low budget feature. For offline they AMA the camera masters and transcoded to DNx36. Did the edit. And I've relinked to the camera masters via AMA. Technically it all works just fine. But damn, to load up the final long play takes like ~7>8 min or more. And then once I can actually move around the timeline lord forbid that I have to switch out of MC for any reason, because when I come back it takes another 10min for MC to rescan the drives with the camera masters on them. This is brutal.. I mean it's just near impossible to get anything done because it's like MC is regularly having to confirm that the camera masters are where they are supposed to be. I can't believe that anyone actually works like this during their editing process.
It's about 9TB of camera masters across 2 Tbolt drives.
Camera masters are HD from a C300.
This last scan has gone on for over 15min.
There are times it's literally faster for me to force quit and relaunch MC and reload the sequence and redo whatever I've lost.
