[Avid-L2] Lost Video in Quad Split view in Source Monitor?

Over the weekend an AE made simple group clips, not multigroup,  Today after they were working all day one of the groups stopped showing video in the Quad split in the source monitor.  If you cut the group clip into a sequence the video is there to be seen on the record side and you can toggle between the 3 sources.  If you place the sequence that contains the group clip in the source monitor then the 3 clip's video shows up in the Quad split.  We tried opening the bin with the source master clips and highlighting them all and then relinking the group clip to selected clips in open bins but no go.  Anybody got a suggestion as to how to get the video of the original master clips to show back up in the quad split display.  The audio is there and the clip labels appear when cmd is held down just the quadrants are black and they are not even showing a media offline slide.  Very strange that only one out the several he made is acting weird.  I've been told the grouping was done in Ver. 8 but then the offline is happening in 6.5.  I could see where that might be a factor but then why don't all the other group clips have the problem?

If we take the problem group clip and put it in the source monitor and then go in one frame from the top and back one frame from the end and make a subclip that subclip will then display the proper quad split video.  It's like we need a refresh group clip function, which I thought relink would provide but so far no luck.
