[Avid-L2] Adobe Media Encoder won't launch?

Okay this is an Avid forum but now that I'm incorporating Adobe Media Encoder into my workflow, as others here do, I figure it's a good place to ask how to fix AME.  I plan on getting in touch with Adobe Chat support tomorrow but here's the problem.

I am exporting Avid 23.976 QT Ref files with DNX-175X media and 16 channels of audio.  Then  I use Adobe Media Encoder to add pulldown and bake XDCAm50 422 QT files with 16 channels of audio.  This has been working great although occasionally AME just drops an audio track or 4 on export.  A reexport with the same setting and the audio is all there.  Tonight a last minute QC note came in after I had started baking out four files that was going to take 7 hours according the AME.  I hit quit on AME and I got a prompt about if I wanted to quit.  I clicked yes and AME churned for 30 seconds and then quit.  I then went into Avid and remade all four QT ref files with the final pixel fix.  Once all that was done I went to launch AME but it stalled at "Loading Exporter QuickTimeHost Bundle.  I forced quit retried but again a stall.  Sometime is stalled there and other times it got to loading a user/desktop/folder name etc... which looked like the desktop folder I had the QT Ref files in when I quit out earlier as mention.

I restarted several times, rebuilt permissions, and uninstalled and reinstalled AME twice, once keeping preferences and the 2nd time not keeping preference.  Nothing got it to launch.  I launched Photoshop without issue and after googling tried holding down shift while launching AME as some threads said that would clean AME's slate when launching.  Nothing worked.

Finally I went to a second startup drive with AME 2015 and fortunately that worked although I had to rebuild my presets.

Anybody know any tricks besides uninstalling or holding shift down, I think the shift trick might be for PCs and not macs but I don't really know.  I saw people talk about reinstalling Premiere Pro or maybe even after effects but I didn't get to that because I had to get the files cooking.  My last two attempts at launching the 2014 AME seemed to stall at the QuicktimeHost Bundle stuff.  I'm wondering if that is some core part of the Adobe programs they may have become corrupted.  I don't know what I could have done as I haven't added any plugins from the time it was working till it stopped.

Tomorrows another day and I'll just call the 24 hour come right to your door Adobe support swat team, oh wait this is Adobe so I'm basically on my own.  HELP!!!!!  ;-)
