Re: [Avid-L2] Cinedeck App for inserting into QT

I'm not disputing its 'value' as a tool just that it isn't worth 3x what the system you're editing the show on is worth.

I love the Cinedeck but in reality if they wanted to really market this tool in the economic climate of long form TV its massively overpriced.

P.s. I'm inclined to trust Cinedeck (the makers of this software) because their recorders are the best I've ever seen for an Avid post workflow.  Some time ago they introduced insert editing in their recorders; i.e. their hardware could insert new audio/video into a file previously recorded on their machines.  They are smart people.

This is an incredibly valuable tool for anybody who delivers files of long-form shows.  $1495 isn't out of line; if you need it, there's nothing else out there.

Actually a decent price for what it gets you if you know you'll use it often and how much time and effort it will save you. I know a few people who've been waiting for this…
