Re: [Avid-L2] Wick 'Em, Whack 'Em, Wacom, Let's Get That Ball And Really Fight

Its not the answer hes looking for but you are missing 90% of the benefits of a tablet not using it in pen mode. The correlation of hand position to screen info leads to a development of muscle memory in 1:1 mode and leads to massive speed increases.

Try to get used to pen mode.

This is my annual appeal to the L2 asking if users of Media Composer 7 or higher on Windows 7 are successfully using Wacom tablets.

I have a colleague who can no longer use a mouse, and cannot get away from MC 5.5.

Since a new MC interface debuted with Media Composer 6, the pointer operates erratically for him in Wacom's mouse mode. Apparently, it operates OK in 1:1 mode.

He is currently using a Graphire model; but, I know that he has bought and returned the newer touch-enabled Intuos models. I also borrowed an older Inutos 3 or 4 (whatever model was sold with DS systems ten years ago) to test, and we experienced the same results in mouse mode.

So, if you are a happy pen & tablet user with MC7 or MC8 on Windows 7, please let me know which model and what driver software.

Thanks!
