Re: [Avid-L2] Please help! I can no longer Import once I updated to 8.4

I think John meant from scratch - as in fresh install of OS and all other apps.

Did you uninstall and re-install via the Application Manager or direct download from the website?  I read about troubleshooting a different problem where an Avid tech suggested using the uninstalled and downloading from the web instead of using App Managerl

That's such an asymetrical problem then as suggested perhaps a reinstall is in order.  I still think importing something from the desktop with the traditional right click may help narrow the issue.  Worth a quick try before reinstalling.

I can import by dragging files directly to the bin - like a drag and drop - but I can not use the file - import, or the right click - import option.

I will repeat this given what you are saying.  Path length can be problematic on some imports.  Can you import color bars from the avid supporting files folder.  Move something to the desktop and try to import that.  I'm not sure why upgrading the OS would create the issue you are having but I'd start with importing something from the desktop and see if that works.  If you are trying to import from your George drive that may for some reason have illegal characters or just to long of a path name.  Worth a try.
