Re: [Avid-L2] Re: Kona 4: Latency & Playback Issues ?

When I get new projects I always have to check the reference setting in Avid regardless of hardware and for whatever reason sometimes it reverts back to internal.  It's kinds like the media creations settings that sometimes seem to have a mind of their own.  I do like in the AJA panel that it shows what kind of sync it is detecting.  I haven't seen that functionality with Avid hardware unless there is some function/feature I'm unaware of.  Perhaps I should make video output a site setting and maybe then it would stick better but that would only effect new projects that I created.  Given video output is a project setting I don't see how that can stick when you open up different projects.  Does AJA hardware act differently?

Also given you have to uninstall the aja software when you upgrade Avid and reinstall after Avid is installed I bet you've had to open video output since 2012.  ;-)  Or did an Avid upgrade not mess with the AJA software.  I know Blackmagic software has to be uninstalled and as has been mentioned in this thread AJA is supposed to be uninstalled too on Avid upgrades.  I've been bitten by the blackmagic cards when someone just upgraded the Avid and then wondered why the BM 4K Extreme stopped working.
