We were trying to automate it really. We currently import the files rather than AMA to get around the UID issues.
We were hoping the avid which just sit there and link and consolidate and transcode which it would if the media files weren't on a network drive it seems.
We need to transcode to a lower resolution for the edit which usually happens overnight.

The idea of recording to OP-Atom would be to dispense with the AMA altogether and just drop the Avid native files straight into the Mediafiles folder and scan them. Make a new numbered folder every day so you don't scan yesterday's media though. Drop the mdb file in a bin and off you go. I am not near a Venice at the moment but I am fairly certain you can make OP-Atom wrapped XDCAM essence files.
We might need to update the Venice to the latest version which has a new wrapper for the XDCAM, I think, which is intended to fix the intermittent relinking issue you saw a while back.

Could give it a try.. Not sure the dynamic media folder thing works unless it's an AMA source though…
