100% speed timewarp effect, blended interpolated mode, interlaced source, progressive output. Add vignette to taste (with paint effect - and always render at 185x), up the chroma and crush the blacks a little.

Worked everytime on good ol' digi. Sadly, what people think "film" is has changed.

PS: the closest I ever saw of video looking like film was a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit special I onlined back in the early 90s. It was shot on beta and the shooter was a master. He used a combo of filters and lighting to make images that were indistinguishable from film. The digital cameras now, under the right control, are giving that level of quality. But this was with analog beta and a very skilled shooter.
