I haven't read the whole thread but when I asked some Avid folks a while back I was told that my 6.5 Avid FX would work on Ver. 7. This was a while back but I think Ver. 8 was about to come out and I was told that even though AvidFX was no longer bundled it should still work with 8. It was implied they weren't going to do anything to break it. Do you have an older copy that came say with a symphony bundle? As I reread your post it sounds like you did have it so maybe they have stopped it from working on 8.1. I did have to reactivate mine at home a while ago and I don't know what triggered that as I rarely use AvidFX and only went to it because a sequence I was onlining had an effect. I'm still on 6.5 at home.

AND on top of that, I'm on CUSTOMER support for the sole reason of trying to BUY something from them and I'm on hold for 41 minutes at this point.

Seriously, is Marianna the ONLY way that the entire WORLD can get any kind of action from Avid?
It's SO SO SO hard to be an advocate for this company and this product.
Is it too late for me to jump over to DS?
