MC is not going to be resolution independent for now. It gets 2K and 4K and UHD and more frame rates and additional color spaces, it seems:
However DNxHR itself, from what I understand, will be a resolution independent codec, and the entire Media Central Platform is supposed to become "Resolution Independent" in the longer run.

For the record, 4K editing and resolution independence aren't the same thing. There's bigger and intermediate standard sizes out there too. Anamorphic sizes as well. Are they all covered in the new codec? Can one create a project of any size?
