switching your house over to another NLE again? :-)
I'm sure that there are lots and lots of incredible things about FCP-X. I haven't opened it in almost two years now. I just don't have the time. I have been using Premiere though... and a 24 year old assistant editor of mine says she's pissed that she spent the money on FCP-X, calling it "the bane of my existence." She has been using it to cut a project for another client. I'm sure that for her and for me and for many others, that's due to lack of training and time on the system. Of course, that's also true for many of the Avid haters out there concerning Avid. They misunderstand it and fail to properly use its power. I'm trying to help an FCP7 editor switch over. He'd never done any other kind of editing, and I can't get him to use Avid like Avid instead of trying to use it like FCP. I'm glad you're finding redeeming value in FCP-X. I trust your assessment.

So to all the snarks and cynics on this board, I ask, "When's the last time you opened up FCP-X?"
Get back to me when you've checked out the way it creates Multicam groups, or imports "odd" format videos, or renders in the background, or displays GRFX templates, color looks, and can "skim" clips. I can go on and on, but there are significant features that will make you say WTF? Why can't my Avid do this?
