Re: [Avid-L2] OTish: BBC and X

I don't know much about the BBC or RTF folks but I'd like to think the FCC isn't stupid too.  Why just look how they made our digital lives so much easier by choosing a standard format we could all embrace and not have to go through all kind of hoops to integrate a myriad of formats.  That would have been a nightmare had they not stood up for what's right.  Hey wait I'm getting an Avid error trying to ingest 720P 60 into my 24 frame NTSC avid project that I'm hoping to output to 1080i so it will be the highest quality to convert to streaming media for iPhones.  Thanks for not being stupid FCC!  ;-)

No, we're not switching again.  But, it annoys me to hear all of this carping and smug comments without knowledge of what's being criticized.

Organizations like the BBC or France's RTF aren't stupid.  They do their homework and make a decision based on facts. They've decided for them, for the kind of work they're doing it's the right tool for the job.
