RE: [Avid-L2] 36 Core HP Z840

 

I feel like MC is not keeping up with these huge computing advances.  All the other nerdy forums are harping on about multiple realtime 5k streams and GPU acceleration of this, that, and the other.  Where are all our amazing performance increases?  Opening 15 AMA bins or a 100MB sequence bin brings Avid to it's knees, even on a spec'd out Z820.  What's the point of all the cores and RAM if we can't do anything with them? It took me 15 hours the other day to render a sequence of marquee titles.  I couldn't believe it.
