So my time code blip seemed to work for show 1 but not on show 2. On show 1 adding the blip at the end made the audio track 1 frame short of the video track duration wise according to QT Pro 7. After saving as a self contained movie the tracks were identical in length.
On show 2 I had the protools mixer create an extra 3 minutes of region to give us extra media. I still put the 1 frame blip just cause I kinda like that as and end of file notice. Well oh horror the audio track on show 2 ended up 1 frame short. We were told as long as this happens 10 seconds or more after the last frame of program it wouldn't be a problem. Well today they decided otherwise although we still can't get a straight answer as to if it really is a problem.
At any rate I found that if I have the one frame blip with a video title QT pro 7 shows the one frame discrepency 48:46.09 for video and 48:46.08 for audio. If I remove the 1 frame of tone and title tool the QT Pro duration is 48:46.05 for video and 48:46.05 for audio. WTF taking 1 frame off the sequence changes the duration 4 and 3 frames respectively. Very weird. Again the difference between show 1 and 2 is it was filler audio up to the blip and show 2 an audio region made in protools as part of the stem. Oh the pain, oh the pain.
