Re: [Avid-L2] Video Solo Track removes Rendered Icons from timeline?

I guess I've just never noticed this behavior and discovered it at a time when the system was being a little sensitive about things so I had a brief moment of heart failure followed by panic attack and then good ole anger. Yes the render icons reappear when video is unsolod so all is good. I just keep relearning things every day.

That does not sound like unusual behavior. If you rendered, the image would be a composite of the tracks, if played from the render file. If you want to solo a specific track, you would want to bypass the render.

Premiere doesn't trash renders like FCP does (not since at least CS6) - you can switch tracks and clips on and off, as well as moving things around in the timeline, trimming back and forwards, without losing your renders - much like in Avid.

As for John's experience of soloing a track in Avid causing effects to become un-rendered, followed by them coming back when un-soloing - that's exactly what I'd expect to happen too. Nothing new there (as far as I can remember)

That´s normal behaviour AFAIK. The rendered files includes all the layers below so, when you Solo a track it´s ok to show unrendered. When you Un-Solo, all effects appear as rendered again? If yes that´s how it always worked at least for me.
If I remembre rifht, In FCP7 and Premiere (I don´t know if the last version works the same) once un un-solo the track you had to re-render all the effects again making the solo button practically useless.
