I guess I've just never noticed this behavior and discovered it at a time when the system was being a little sensitive about things so I had a brief moment of heart failure followed by panic attack and then good ole anger. Yes the render icons reappear when video is unsolod so all is good. I just keep relearning things every day.

That does not sound like unusual behavior. If you rendered, the image would be a composite of the tracks, if played from the render file. If you want to solo a specific track, you would want to bypass the render.

Nothing new there (as far as I can remember)D.On 30 July 2014 13:05, Agustin Goya agustingoya@... [Avid-L2] <Avid-L2@yahoogroups.com> wrote:That´s normal behaviour AFAIK. The rendered files includes all the layers below so, when you Solo a track it´s ok to show unrendered. When you Un-Solo, all effects appear as rendered again? If yes that´s how it always worked at least for me.If I remembre rifht, In FCP7 and Premiere (I don´t know if the last version works the same) once un un-solo the track you had to re-render all the effects again making the solo button practically useless.Agustín GoyaEditor (EDA)WANCAMP | POSTtel. +54 11 4857 9083cel. +54 9 11 15 6545 2427Skype. agustingoyaOn Wed, Jul 30, 2014 at 2:17 AM, John Moore bigfish@... Here's a new Avid quirk guaranteed to pucker your sphincter when it happens to you. I had everything rendered with a safe color limit effect and cut in the last fixes and decided to isolate a video track. Cmd click the track it goes green on the track indicator and solos the video track. Without realizing it with the video solo track on all the rendered effects icons show as unrendered. After a trip to the attic no difference then I notice the video solo track was still green and when I stopped video soloing all the render icons came back. What a boo foo for a moment. I'd be curious if other systems shows this behavior. First time I've noticed it. I'm on mac pro 12 core os 10.8.5 SNDX 6.5.4.
