If you're trying to get to final cut, then it would make sense to transcode to ProRes (if exporting a clip) or do a video mixdown to prores (if exporting a sequence.)
You should then be able to export same-as-source and take the output quicktime to final cut with no issues. It will avoid having to worry about all the choices you mention in your post below. You can choose a flavour of ProRes (HQ/regular/LT/Proxy) that is a reasonable match to your source resolution, and not worry about losing quality.

Steve,
I think I now understand. I usually use qt ref then put in Sorenson Squeeze but I thought this would be better. I thought the QT Movie setting was a general QT File
In the Avid Export QT movie. I have a bunch of Avid Choices. Pal , Then I get to H264 that I know Final Cut will take. Or MPEG 4 Video. Then under motion selection. I chose Frame rate current. But what about Key Frames Choice Automatic? Every? All? and do I check or uncheck Frame reordering? Quality I chose "Best" this is for Broadcast. Data rate I chose "Automatic".
Size: I chose 1920X1080 HD
Then there is a choice of "preserve aspect ratio using Drop down menu: Letterbox, crop ,fit within dimensions . if needed.
OR you can check deinterlace source video. Or you can leave both unchecked.
For Audio: It come up Liner PCM
I have :ACC , Apple Lossless,
for rate it chose 48KB
Render settings best
and it recommended 64 as target rate.
This needs to open on a Final Cut program.
Do you have any suggestions? Does this seem correct?
Thank You, Larry
