Placing In and Out points on your source clip/group doesn't really make a difference.  If you In and Out 5 seconds of a 2 hour clip, it's going to search through all 2 hours.  To only sync the 5 seconds, you'll need to make a subclip/subgroup.  

First thing you should do before scriptsyncing is open your command palette and add the "Add Script Mark" button.  You'll need this to make inevitable corrections.  
You can copy/paste text into your previously made scripts, but you can't copy sciptsynced text.  So if you're trying to consolidate previously synced scripts, you'll have to redo them. 

Dialogue that's repeated over and over again is probably the biggest pain in SciptSync land.  Make sure your transcription company indicates timecode between each take.

Have you checked out the automatic photo albums in Yahoo Groups?
When you send mail to your Yahoo Group with photos attached, a photo album with attached photos is automatically created. When your group members reply to the email with photo attachments, they are added to the 'photomatic' albums automatically!
