AND it did NOT solve the basic Media Composer "bug" that caused bins copied from other systems to reset to a different font than the one originally set. I still see this on pretty much every bin that is moved from another system, even though my system has the same fonts. And the newly selected font is generally something no human would ever use.
The problem I solved was a more complex problem which caused bin and settings names in the project window to vanish completely, which cannot be reset manually. It was also unique to my OS user. Switching users made the problem vanish with everything set to the correct font. Clearly, my users font system was corrupt.
I still see the incorrect font setting for every bin from another system. I reset them to my font and now the stick. They didn't before.
