[Avid-L2] RE: Avid's biggest challenges

"which made possible my Switcher's Quick Guide to the Avid Media Composer V6"

Sadly in my region, almost all FCP shops that switched, went to Premiere.  Some are still hanging on with FCP7.  Out of my last 5 gigs around the area, they have covered FCP, PP, MC and FCPX.  Fun.

"and has -- compared to FCPX -- a very useful CC."

For day to day work, I would say that MC is behind here too.

"I don't see how this ends well. Revenue has to come from someone. And, the number of users must grow."

I agree 100%.  The revenue is in the hardware and support contracts.  Maybe that's why the ACA came out as a "pay to play" club: to offset falling revenue from support contracts?  Dunno, just saying.  And I do not see a groundswell of new MC users anywhere on the radar.  This has been a long story and I think has a bit more to play out.
