Re: [Avid-L2] interesting survey

I know, everyone's mileage may vary. But for me, having cut a whole bunch of stuff, long and short on FCP, docs, trailers, music videos, etc., I find longform on FCP to be the 'Inception' of NLE's. You wake up from one nightmare only to find yourself inside another one. And it keeps going, layer after layer, nightmare after nightmare. Short form, that's different. I actually prefer FCP for some short form, really just for the ability to have a whole gob of sound tracks available, rather than Avid's bizarre little 24.

But for me, for longform, for movies, etc., there's only Avid.

OK, so we have different experiences. My statement was based on two large projects and a bunch of shorter ones, all of which I did not cut but did coach.

Other than that: to each his own.

FCP legacy was wonderful to cut longform on, in my case primarily documentaries.
