But, i totally understand it. If you're low on money, you have to make choices, even if that means pissing off your first fanbase that made whom you are today.

That's because the QT that supports everything other than H.264 is deprecrated. It's going away within one or two OS releases. If it's not gone in the next, it will be in the one after, leaving no way to play the older QT codecs (and AVIs as well) on OS X.There's a new Mavericks provision to do the update automatically, so there's a playable file in the future.Philip
