I would certainly agree that it's very important professionally to be as comfortable as possible on both platforms, and I can appreciate that there's a lot of excellent hardware value for money with PC platforms.

And of course, I would certainly never turn down an Avid job on PC! It is the platform of choice for my local PBS affiliate, and I've done lots of work I value in that environment. At the end of the day, that's the most important thing for me.

I'm glad you like your Mac, and while I am platform agnostic, I really don't want this to turn into Mac vs PC. IMHO they're both good and each has plusses and minuses. Only knowing one seems to keep potential jobs away.

Since Avid EOL'd their only decent finishing tool I'm considering moving to AD, and all their serious products run on Linux. Now I know absolutely zilch about Linux but there again I couldn't care less. All I want to know is what button I press to achieve a certain function. I'm completely platform agnostic when it comes to my tool of choice and it has always baffled me when I see editors who aren't. What's the problem that I'm missing?
